TechCrunch covers Gideon Bros: „Industrial robots startup raises $765K led by TransferWise co-founder“

The revered online publisher of tech and startup news covered Gideon Brothers, writing of the seed round led by Taavet Hinrikus, Co-Founder of TransferWise.

TechCrunch notes that the „ambitious startup out of Croatia“ has „quietly“ raised $765,000 in a seed round that was also joined by David Rowan, a former WIRED UK Editor.

Explaining the competitive advantages of setting up in Croatia, Gideon Brothers’ CEO and co-founder, Matija Kopić, said that the company was able to recruit a specialist team while keeping cost lower than competitors. Also, Gideon Brothers was given access to a number of testing facilities – and their much-needed warehouse logistics data.

TechCrunch notes Gideon Brothers’ first product is an autonomous „intralogistics robot“ designed to safely handle pallets in manufacturing, warehouse and commercial environments. The robot, TechCrunch writes, addresses the problem of workforce shortage, requiring only minimal changes to the facilities.
