An order fulfillment method involving complex coordination of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). A typical swarm use case would involve AMRs moving between employees stationed in separate warehouse zones. Each AMR moves from employee to employee (from zone to zone). Employees place items from ‘their’ zone in containers carried by AMRs. As an AMR ends its round, it takes the items making up an order to be packed and shipped.
